Emer Ni Eadhra is a writer from North Mayo.
Her work focuses on landscape and class. Relationships and loss. Family and feuds.
Her writing seeks to comment on the unique area she grew up in using form and dialogue to construct a powerful narrative where characters come alive.
She has been published in ‘Thiwurd’, ‘The Liminal Review’ and ‘The Cormorant’. Emer was awarded an Agility award from the Arts Council of Ireland in 2022. She undertook a writer’s residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in the summer of 2023 and is writing her first short story collection.
In 2023, she was 1 of 12 writers shortlisted for the prestigious Creative Future Short Story Prize
In 2024, she was selected for the Irish Writer’s Centre National Mentorship programme, supported by Mayo Arts Centre and the Irish Writer’s Centre.
